Role

Hire a facilitator

A facilitator works alongside the group rather than standing on stage. The aim is for participants to produce their own ideas, decisions and plans. This needs a clear structure and the ability to manage dominant voices. Agree beforehand what the session should produce.

Questions about the facilitator

What is the difference between a facilitator and a workshop leader?
A workshop leader teaches knowledge or a skill. A facilitator does not supply the answers, but draws them out of the group.
How many people can a facilitator work with?
From ten to hundreds, with the right activities. Larger groups often split into smaller groups.
